Delivery Policy:

Order by 2pm for same day dispatch - We try to ensure all orders that are received by 2pm Monday to Friday are dispatched the very same day. Please note delivery times are best estimates based on courier services but in some unforeseen circumstances they can take longer.

Missed Deliveries - If nobody is at home to sign for the parcel a missed delivery card should have been put through your letterbox with instructions. Please read the card carefully as most companies will return any undeliverable parcels back to the sender (in this case us) after 7 days. If your parcel is sent back to us as undelivered we may ask you to pay for the delivery cost incurred by ourselves not necessarily what you paid, if you decide to take a refund or ask for an additional payment if you want it to be redelivered.

Refused Deliveries - If your delivery is refused without out our prior consent we may deduct the shipping costs incurred by ourselves not necessarily what you paid if you decide to take a refund or ask for an additional payment if you want it to be redelivered.

Lost or damaged - All though very rare this can happen from time to time, if your order has not arrived or your item/s have arrived damaged please contact our customer service team as soon as possible on enquiries@hsjohnson.com.

FREE WATCH BRACELET ADJUSTMENT

Let us know your size and we'll adjust it before dispatch

FREE WATCH BRACELET ADJUSTMENT

When you purchase from H.S.Johnson we will resize your watch bracelet free of charge before dispatch, all you need to do is measure around your wrist where you ideally want the watch to sit and at the tightness you prefer, best to add around 5mm or 1/4 inch to the measurement to avoid pinching, then just email your size required to braceletadjustment@hsjohnson.com with your order number straight after purchase.

Things to consider........

If you need extra links to make fit there may be a delay in dispatch if these need to be ordered in, they are often free of charge to order but some brands will apply an extra charge for this.

We always include any removed links with your watch purchase.

You can of course get it adjusted locally to make it an exact fit if you are unsure but this will have a cost you would have to cover.

ABOUT US

H.S.Johnson was established in 1946 after the end of the Second World War.

Herbert Samuel Johnson was a watchmaker before the war and his skills were put to use repairing aircraft instruments as an RAF Sergeant in those bleak times of war. Whilst stationed at Fradley he met and married his sweetheart Violet, whose father was the Editor of the Lichfield Mercury, and after wartime had ended they decided to stay local and opened their business in Rugeley ( Pic 1 ) where it still resides online only today.

In the early days when rationing was still in effect the shop consisted of trading from wartime utility tables.

In 1951 Michael Samuel Johnson was born on the premises and would grow up to follow his father into the watchmaking trade. At 14 he started tinkering with clocks and at 16 was working in the shop full time with day releases to college to gain the relevant qualifications. By 21 he had passed his 3 year course at the School of Jewelry and Silversmiths in Birmingham, after which he worked full time in the shop as a watchmaker. He can be seen playing behind his dad's car in the picture from 1957 ( Pic 2 ).

In fact the family has a rich history of watchmaking, Michael is 4th generation and his father 3rd. Before this Herbert's father also called Herbert was a watchmaker in London and Hove, he also taught watchmaking at a London University and during this time built 3 clocks, one of which we still have in the shop, these clocks are totally hand made, every part, truly amazing to see and hear.

It doesn't stop there either, his father, James Johnson, was manager of Pickett's in Oxford Street in London and Michael's great great uncle was William Johnson who was responsible for the repair and maintenance of the clocks at Hampton Court Palace in Victorian Days.

We sell quality brands that are all UK supplied items. We always put the customer first and we are proud of our service and reputation.

We now operate online only.
